Final Fantasy XIII: Episode i

Episode i is a special epilogue story that was released with Final Fantasy XIII: Ultimate Hits International. Here I will translate the entire story (which is relatively short in comparison to the original novels.) It is now complete! Thank you for being patient. [Thank you to 0chiamano_mimi0 for the scans.]

Author: Jun Eishima

Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV
Part V
Part VI
Part VII
Part VIII

I am still working on two other projects, the story from the FFXIII Ultimania as well as the one from the FFXII Ultimania. I've been in school so I haven't had as much time to work on them, and this project will be much easier to finish quickly. I will get around to them soon, however.

  5. Great translation for a great story, and perfect timing! Best x'mas every. But the ending seems a bit odd, is there a II?

  6. To answer both of your questions, the continuation of the story has yet to be revealed. Perhaps SE will let us know in what form we will see the rest of this story at the conference in January?

  7. Very happy to read the complete story!
Regarding the ending, I hope we will in time find out just what has become of Lightning...

  9. She's in the world of Dissidia.

  10. Nope. Definitely not dissidia. Like I said, it's stupid for the main storyline to just connect to a spin-off. Definitely setting up for a sequel and just around the corner for a announcement at the Premier Conference.

    Thank you so much. :)

  11. Same old comment from May being brought up, but the creator was saying he was willing to make a sequel (FXIII-2) depending on how well the series sold, and if said continued, it would be 300-500 years or so into the future. Also almost the whole team moved on to different projects. But it would be awesome if he didn't stop at video games, and continued through a short series of books to follow. Thanks so much for the translations, I'll be keeping an I out for later scan-lations.

  12. No... they never said a different project. They were asked if the XIII team is working on a project and confirmed it. According to IGN, he also mentioned it's related to the XIII mythology. Plus, there's been a few things on staff messages that an XIII-2 is in production sure it could be wrong, but given the strong hints...

  13. Thanks for your hard work. :)

  14. First off, thank to the translator for the hard work and great translation. I loved the game so much but I didn't like this. I felt that the ending of the game was the end. This seems like either an odd sequel plug or just something weird. I guess I just don't want a sequel without the whole cast back in it as opposed to just Light, Snow, and Serah (Even though they're might fav three).

  15. Hey, so thanks for the awesome translation, but I must say I was really pissed at the XIII writers about this.s I just wanted closure, and this just felt cheap, random, and rushed. I mean, it's not even a epilogue, instead of ending the story properly it keeps it going with a new cliche'. To be honest, it feels like a bad fanfic.
For such a good story, this felt so out of place, I'm suprised more fans aren't pissed out of their minds.

But still, thanks for the effort you put out!

  16. The guy above me is 100% correct. It felt like a fanfic. I hope this is the Dissidia lead up cause I don't want it to be part of the actual FFXIII canon.

  17. Being linked to this today was an excellent Christmas gift! Thank you so much for all your hard work translating these episodes for us. Knowing that the end of the game wasn't the end of the story means so much to me, and I'd never have found out without your translations. Thank you thank you thank you!

  18. Etro is the goddess of death in Final Fantasy versus XIII!!!! I think Lightning will appear in Final Fantasy versus XIII.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No. Etro is also the goddess in FFXIII. It wouldn't make sense.

  20. How the heck did I not even realize this was here until discovering my favorite game ever was getting a well-deserved sequel? Late Christmas present for me! ^_^ Thanks a lot!

  24. Wow, awesome translations! It is so great that there are people out there who are willing to put their time and effort into doing this kind of non-profit work for the benefit of the community. On behalf of all the FF fans out there, you have my deepest gratitude.
